All right, so let's get to it. Welcome back to unlocking your more with Janna Holterman. Today, we're going to be talking about the science behind intuition, and this is all leading up to my intuition fundamental course, which launches may 12. But there's a lot of, I think, like skepticism and doubts and things that can happen with intuition, because a lot of us have experienced, you know, situations where we maybe thought we got intuitive information and then it was wrong, or we had a gut knowing, and then, you know, it didn't. Things didn't work out the way that we thought they should, or whatnot. And there's a lot of really great tools and resources out there that can kind of help teach you, or maybe you've watched some, you know, social media videos and all these things that have given you quick tips to intuition. But we need to understand that, just like if I'm telling you, oh, you know, I want to lose 30 pounds, I could go and, do you know some gym bros workout program, and maybe that would be too intense for my body, and I would get inflammation, and, you know, be just fatigued and exhausted, and I wouldn't lose the weight that I wanted to lose because it wasn't right for my body, right? Or I could do a really, really low intensity thing that wouldn't lose help me lose the weight. Or maybe I would do something that could possibly harm my body, right? So we can all agree that, you know, if you are trying to lose weight, every person's body is a little bit different, and what's going to work best for their body is going to be something slightly different than the next person. There's going to be people who can do similar routines and lose weight, but there is no uniform. One size fits all across the board. Way of doing it. And the same is true for intuition. So if you've looked into or practiced or tried to get into an information and sometimes it comes through real clear, and you know, things work out, and some things it comes through, and you're like, Oh, well maybe no. And then you know, thing, something else happens or it doesn't, it doesn't prove to be accurate. It is so easy to, you know, just be like, you know, whatever. I'm just going to trust my logical thinking brain, and we're going to go from there. But there is over 20 different forms of intuitive information and ways of reading things. So it is not that you are the problem. It's generally more that maybe you tried method number 20 and like instead of method number 123, that are most effective for you, right? And so with the course that we're going to jump into in May, we're going to dive deeper into that and really understanding, like, what is your best, most effective ways and different, like, ways of reading into information, just like they're speaking like if you were to go around the world, we speak all different languages, and certain languages have certain words to describe, you know, emotional experiences or things that other languages don't. Right? There's a lot of different languages that have those kinds of things that some don't. And with intuition, it's kind of like going into the most detailed language that describes all of those deep, intricate emotional experiences that one can have, and which is why you can when you've trained it and you've actually figured out this is how I best get information, you can get really, really accurate information. And we're going to go into that the biggest caveat, or the biggest thing that holds people back from true accuracy of information when they are pulling in for intuitive information in their best ways, is emotions. Emotions are the biggest I don't want to say like roadblock, the biggest thing that can get in the way of you accurately pulling information, because we when we get emotional, we can think with our like, fight, flight brain, like our amygdala, our fear sense, can get in the way. And we can think about, like, worst case scenarios or all these things which may really bias or skew the information that you're getting to not actually be accurate. And so when you really start to learn about intuition, this is, I mean, I feel like everybody wants, like, next day results, right? Like, we want that, like, Amazon, immediate shipping kind of experience when it comes to learning new skills. And we want to be like, yeah, no, I can tell the future. I can, I can, you know, exactly know how I'm going to make a million dollars. All these things like, those are incredible things that you can develop the skills to be able to figure out, but it's kind of like a you have to earn the right process. It's not a, you know, imagine you want to become a doctor, right? Like, if you want to become a doctor, you can't just be like, You know what? I'm going to become a doctor, and then tomorrow, you're operating on somebody's toe, right? You have to go and get a bachelor's degree, and then you have to go to med school. And you go to med school for four years, and you learn about all these different processes. And then when you finish med school, you go to into residency. And then it's like, you know, learning on the job processes of actually, like implementing and practicing all these things. And not to say that intuition is going to take that eight to 12 years process, but there is a level of truly understanding. How does your intuition work for you? How do you receive receive information, and as you continue to learn and practice and grow, you will start to think, oh, I had the situation. You know, maybe if I tried this instead, it's going to be a little bit better. Or if I do this instead all these things, it really is. This is why the way my intuition fundamentals courses set up is like, we have a here's the tool, here's the thing that we're going to learn about, and then we have breakout rooms where we can actually practice and implement because that is truly where you start to figure out, like, well, I like, you can figure out, you know, this tool works okay for me, But this tool over here works great for me, or I ran into a roadblock in this way. Let me figure out how to overcome that so that you can start to become scientifically accurate with an intuition. So let's talk a minute about the brain. Right? You've probably heard like we use barely any of our brain. And when you look into research, and they do, like MRIs and things where you can see, you know, like, like, when people are thinking about certain things, or they have certain visuals, like different parts of their brains are lighting up, and so people actually use the entire brain. But the caveat being, people aren't using their brains potential. We're probably only using like, five to 10% of our brains potential when we are just existing in life. And you've probably met people where you're like, are they even using 2% of their brains potential. We all know that, but so we want to give ourselves like, you know, we can have that crash out of like, What do you mean? Like, I'm totally using my brain's potential all the time, but majority of our life and our experiences, our brain is working on autopilot, which means it's just kind of wash, rinse, repeat. We're doing the same mundane routines. We're probably eating the same thing for breakfast. We're doing our same you know, go to work. We experience maybe slight variations, but most of what our brain is doing is on autopilot. So very little of our brain is actually being used. So if we go along with that like it probably is realistic that only you know, 7% of our brain's potential is being used. And there's a lot of things that you can do, and there's a lot of research neuroscience and quantum physics and all this stuff out there showing people using and expanding more capacity of your brain, and one of those ways would be things like meditation and more emotional mastery of processing and things like that. Actually, like with the MRIs, can light up more parts of your brain, which means more activation. And there's different things that are being utilized.

Then just, you know, basic functioning. And then, if we want to expand our potential even more, we need to start tapping into intuition. And intuition is we're going to get into like, What the hell is even intuition? And how do we get this information? But intuition is truly expanding our nervous system and our brains capacity to interpret and process the information, which is actually allowing us to use more and more of our brain, which, in reality, makes our lives so much easier. And we'll get into all that, but basically, what the hell is intuition, and how does it work? Right? Like, you've probably seen the things online, or maybe you've been to a psychic, or all that information, and you're like, How the fuck did they know that? Like, you know, I kissed Sally Joe when I was eight years old, and that, like, create. You know what I mean? Like, you can probably be like, how does that? How do they know this? And intuition is truly tapping into the basic the basis of our entire world. And so what I mean by that is, when we look at think like going back to elementary school science, right? Everything in our body is made up of cells, which are made up of atoms, and atoms we have photons. Photons are light particles, and we have neutrons. Neutrons are like the negative space, right? So there's space and then there's photons. Photons are light particles. So the building block, the basis of literally everything in our planet is photons, which are light particles. So everything comes back to light. So our nervous system and our brains and our bodies are interpreting light in literally everything. Think about the ways that our eyeballs are work, right? So our eyes are literally seeing light reflecting off of things, seeing like coming from things and our brain is sending, or our eyes send an electrical signal to our brain, which then interprets the visual and creates the scene in our our brain of what we are seeing, and our nervous system responds to light. So we everything is created by light, and that light tends to go and create energy. And energy is also something that we are very much in tune with experiencing from others. And you've probably had this like in big situations, like, if you've ever been, you know, by power lines or things like that, you can, like, feel the energy, like you can feel the body, your body vibration happening, and then also, you feel energy from other people, right? We all have naturally, like, we're naturally interpreting information. We're really, really good at interpreting energy and emotions from other people. Like most of people would agree that they're very empathetic. You're not looking at that person and just seeing like, unless their face is like, devastated, you're probably not recognizing that they're having like, a facial expression that's giving you that emotion. But how do you know that they're feeling sad or upset? If they're faced like, you know, maybe they just have, like, an RBF, right? But you're like, I know this person, something is off. How are you doing that? What's actually happening is we're picking up the light energy and the energy coming off of their body is giving you an indication of the way that they are experiencing their current reality, and we're interpreting that and doing what we will with that information, right? This is so much. There's so many people. Times you've probably met somebody where you're like, they have done absolutely nothing, but I like want to run screaming from this person, like it's, you know, they literally could do absolutely nothing. You haven't even met this person, and you're like, something about them is so off. I have to remove myself from the situation. Our energy can be like, you know that really, really strong Bo or it could be like a person you just met and you feel so damn connected with them. You're like, I could literally tell this person my deepest traumas, and I would feel so safe being around them.

All of that is our brain and our nervous system interpreting the energy and the light that is coming out from people's brains. So energy is broken down into we have electromagnetic field, which is part of it. So we're actually like radiating out energy. We have what I have learned and call creator field, which is a radiation of our belief system. So what we believe to be true, we actually like, radiate out from our body. And this is kind of handing people a script of how to treat me, right? So if you've ever experienced some being around somebody specific, and you behave in a way that you're like, What the fuck is like gotten into me like I normally would never behave this way. But there's something about this person that is just like irking me and I am behaving in a way that I wouldn't want to, that is literally their energy, that they have projected off of themselves, that you are unconsciously picking up on and responding to. We also radiate out our thought field. So the thoughts that we're currently having, I don't know if you've seen those online, where there's people who are like, I'm trying to remember his name. There's a guy who, like, does, like, stand up, where he's like, literally, like, reading people's thoughts. And it's always like, it's like, super funny, because people are talking about, like, thinking about, like, you know, really embarrassing situations, and I feel like I should remember his name, but I don't remember it, but you probably know, like, you've seen something like that online, where people are, like, reading people's thoughts, because we literally are sending signals out of our body.

We also have chakras, which are main energy centers within our body that have their own like, energy signatures, light signatures from our body we have our aura. You've probably heard of people talking about like, oh, I can see auras and things like that. That's, again, just another light energy information that is being radiated off of us. So you may have never experienced like witnessing or actually being able to see these things, but I guarantee that you can get behind. Yes, my behavior has changed, or I've picked up from things, from people, even though they never said anything. All of those are indications that you have natural, intuitive abilities. What actually happens in order to train that, to fully learn the language is number one, it takes skill in repetition like it's not you can't go tomorrow and decide that I'm going to run a marathon, right? Like, if you've never trained for a marathon by like, mile three, your shoes, your feet are going to start hurting. You're going to be like, wheezing. You're not going to you're going to put yourself like, in full muscle death Rhabdo, and put yourself in the emergency department, right? Like, the same with intuition, like we it's it takes a trained person, and this is not complicated, just like if you're gonna run a marathon, it's not necessarily complicated. I gotta put one foot in front of the other, but I have to build up the muscle, I have to build up the cardiovascular endurance, I have to build the mental fortitude to be able to do that kind of exercise, and the same is true with intuition. I need to learn the skills of how to receive into intuitive information, just like, if you're gonna run that marathon, like maybe, like circuit training would be the most effective for you, but maybe it wouldn't. Maybe it's just like a slow jog for a period of time. Maybe you need to walk for one minute and then run for three minutes, or whatever it is, right? Like, there's so many different ways that you could train for a marathon, and there's going to be one that's best for you. There's so many different ways that you can train your intuition, and there's going to be a handful of skills that are best for you in my intuition, fundamental course, we're going to learn a bunch of different tools. You're going to get what is naturally most strong for you. But I want you to be able to get to the point where, when you start to like ask questions, you're going to be getting the answers in multiple ways which is going to create more clarity for you. So if you're like, Okay, I'm receiving an inner knowing. I can feel it in my body like I'm getting that yes, you know, in like, my my my vision is showing it yes, my hearing is showing it Yes. My body is showing a yes. My inner knowing is showing a yes. Like, it's got to be a yes, versus like, if you only have one tool, if we were to get emotional, or if you were to get distracted, you know, like, you might not get the most accurate information. So we want to train all of these. But again, we want to know like, this is my strongest skill. I'm going to like cultivate that to start with, and then I'm going to expand all the processes. So you need to understand how these different fields of information work, and how we receive information from those so how do we interpret that light? How do we interpret the energy so that you can start really cultivating so much more clarity in your life. And I kind of like briefly mentioned this, but like, why do we want to train our intuition? Like, what's the point? Like, you know, my life is pretty good. Like, why do I want to learn how to interpret light and energy and be able to receive information? Maybe it is so that you can read the future, but that is such a small, narrow percentage of like, what I would actually use my intuition for? I use my intuition for honestly, most of the time, it's kind of replacing human thoughts. What I mean by that is we have our ego brain, which is so amazingly designed, but such a strong force for keeping us safe, keeping us in the safe zone, keeping us in the known. Really, it doesn't want us to step into unknown situations. And if you're anything like me, like you want to continue to evolve and grow and learn new things that are going to be aligned with you, creating the life that you want to live, whether that be, you know, a certain house or a car or a business or all of these things, or just better quality relationships. You want to have a deeper connection with your spouse. You want to have better parenting tools, all of these things, right? But when we are in this stepping into the unknown situation, or when we are communicating with our partners or our kids, or all these things, what tends to get in the way is strong emotions, or especially when that unknown fight flight brain kicks in, right? Our ego is like hell to the no, like you're going in a place that I've never been before. How am I supposed to protect you? I don't know what to expect. I don't know what to like I'm going to experience so your ego brain is like, whoa, whoa, whoa, kick the brakes. We got to stop what's going to happen is we then start to overthink. You're going to come up with all of these really, really, really valid, like, excuses for why you shouldn't do it, and they're going to sound so good. You're going to be like, Oh yeah, that's such a good reason. I definitely should put the brakes on this. Like, let's not do this. And so because you start overthinking, you come up with all these really valid reasons. You come up with so many obstacles. Your brain starts to, like, sabotage it, and you come up with so many obstacles. So think about it like you putting it in your GPS that, like you're not, you're going from where you live to the, I don't know closest cost Costco. And your your brain is going to be like, Okay, well, there's actually, like, 87 different routes to get there. And we could go, you know, jump this fence and, you know, run through this field that's got a bunch of snakes in it, and then we gotta, like, climb over this fence, hop on a dumpster, and we're gonna be at the back of Costco, and that's gonna be, like, the best way to get there. But this is what our brain is telling us, right? Like this, the brain is coming up with like, 87 different ways of getting to Costco. But what is the actual best way to get to Costco? That is where intuition comes in. Your human brain is going to activate fight flight response, which means you're going to overthink, you're going to spiral, you're going to create all these obstacles. And science has actually shown that when we get into that fight flight brain, our like our ego, activates that fight right? Fight flight brain system, your frontal cortex. So the logical part, the thinking of part of your brain actually gets like 90% less blood flow. So your part of your brain that's actually thinking clearly is getting less blood flow, which means your ability to make logical, beneficial decisions for yourself moving forward is so small, right? Like you've cut off that part of your body that's going to make really sound decisions. It's getting less blood flow. You're ready to go into chaos mode, right? So we want to have a tool that's going to allow us to bypass that part of our brain and actually ask and get clear answers for what is the best way to get a Costco? Well, actually, if I take the highway, it's going to be the fastest way to get to Costco. I'm not going to hit all the traffic lights of the other way. I'm not going to have to run through the field of snakes and hop a fence and jump on a dumpster all of those things, right? So intuition is really designed for us to be able to get clear and scientifically accurate information, to make the best possible decisions for our lives that are moving us forward in the way that we want to and we choose to. So if you're comfortable staying exactly where you are with nothing changing disregard this entire episode, throw it away.

But if you are kind of sick of where you're at, you're maybe you're feeling kind of drained and exhausted. You really don't feel fulfilled like you're making a difference. You feel like you know you don't have the quality of relationships that you want to have. You are constantly making decisions. You're dramatizing them in your brain. You're second guessing yourself. Then a week later, you're like, well, I should have done that other thing. And then you're beating yourself up for not doing the thing you should have done. Intuition and draining your intuition is that thing that nips like 90% of that in the butt it is truly to being able to tune in and say, Okay, I have a couple of decisions in front of me. This is going to be the decision that moves feet me forward the most efficiently, in a way that I choose, versus I gotta go down some dark alleys. It's gonna be terrifying. I'm gonna hate it like I'm gonna I'm gonna get stuck in traffic, all of these things. And this is really why intuition has changed my life in so many capacities, because it's waking up and being like, okay, you know, I want to move my body today. What is the most effective way to reach my health and wellness goals to move my body, you know, today could be strength training. Tomorrow could be cardio or a Pilates class, whatever I want to reach my health and wellness goals. What is going to you know, I'm making my grocery list. What is going to be most beneficial for me to purchase. Maybe it is some salmon, and, I don't know, some brussels sprouts. I don't know right, like you can cut out all of the noise of your brain overthinking and dramatizing and second guessing and get right to this is the most beneficial path for me. This is going to be the best decision. I'm going to be the most happy if I go on vacation here. I stay in this hotel, I book these excursions. I'm going to be the most happy if I, you know, apply for this other job. I'm going to be the most happy if I, you know, take a tennis lesson. All of these things that are just allowing us to create more capacity in our day to day lives, and live life where it's truly like, oh my god, this is how good it gets to be. This is me truly being in my best version of me. This is me continuing to grow and move and evolve and create a life that I am completely obsessed with and know that I'm making a difference and feel fulfilled. That is why intuition literally changes everything and why we want to understand and be able to interpret light, particles and energy so that we can make the most informed decisions that allow us to create lives we are completely obsessed with.
